Embark on an epic journey through England’s stunning landscapes with the Coast to Coast trail. This challenging hike stretches over 313 kilometers, connecting St. Bees on the Irish Sea coast to Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Sea coast. St. Bees to Ennerdale Bridge

Starting from the coastal town of St. Bees, the first section of the trail offers breathtaking views of the Irish Sea as well as the Lake District’s stunning scenery. Ennerdale Bridge to Rosthwaite

The trail passes through picturesque villages, rolling hills, and the beautiful valley of Ennerdale. The highlight of this section is the ascent of Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak. Take a detour to visit the Ennerdale Water, a beautiful lake surrounded by rolling hills and stunning scenery.

Rosthwaite to Keld

The third section of the trail is a mix of scenic beauty and challenging terrain. Keld to Reeth

This section of the trail is especially beautiful in the summer when the fields are ablaze with wildflowers.

But many people utilize B&Bs because they provide a more comfortable and convenient option for those who prefer indoor accommodation. There are several campsites and B&Bs located along the trail, each with its own unique features and amenities.

When to go

You can hike the Coast to Coast anytime of the year, but the best time to hike is during the spring and summer months. This is when the weather is mild and the trails are clear. To prepare for your hike, it’s essential to pack comfortable and supportive footwear, as well as warm and waterproof clothing.
